KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Operating in the visible and IR spectral region (from 350 nm to over 3000 nm), tungsten halogen lamps are available in a wide range of electrical powers, source sizes and shapes to ensure optimum illumination of target areas.

Tungsten halogen lamps and their power supplies are also often cost effective, broad band, broad spectral band emission, which makes them ideal light sources for many hyperspectral imaging applications.

The main consideration in the choice of tungsten halogen lamp depends on its filament size and colour temperature - the latter determining the spectral peak of the output and also the lamp lifetime: generally, as colour temperature goes up, lamp life goes down. Lamp selection therefore is often a compromise with respect to performance.

Choosing the correct tungsten halogen source for your specific application can therefore be tricky. However, ClydeHSI designs and manufactures a range of tungsten halogen lamps to many different specifications, and our experienced team of engineers are on hand to select and tailor the correct lighting solution for your specific applicational requirements.
